UPI’s Protective Finish capabilities include the complete finishing process—from blasting, chemical conversion, and pre-treatment to priming, CARC coating, and liquid painting. Whether a component requires a durable military coating, a custom appearance, or multiple protective systems, our team combines controlled processes with hands-on craftsmanship to deliver a finish built for its intended environment.

Our capabilities extend well beyond standard paint applications. UPI supports multi-layer coating systems, multi-tone finishes, custom paint requirements, and components incorporating multiple substrates, including armor and stainless steel on the same assembly. When a complex component requires different coating types, colors, or application methods across a single manufactured component, our experienced finishing personnel have the skill and attention to detail needed to execute the job correctly.

For defense and mission-critical applications, UPI provides CARC coating and corrosion protection to applicable military requirements, including MIL-DTL-53072, MIL-P-53022, and MIL-DTL-53039, as well as TT-C-490 requirements for chemical treatment and coating processes. Our finishing operation incorporates chemical conversion and controlled surface preparation to promote coating adhesion, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability. Corrosion protection and coating performance can also be verified through testing and documentation to applicable military specifications, giving customers confidence that the protective system is performing as intended.

UPI is also committed to making our finishing operations more environmentally responsible. Our solvent recycling capabilities allow us to reclaim and reuse solvent where appropriate, reducing waste and improving the efficiency of our operation while maintaining the quality and performance our customers expect.
